This represented growth of more than 40% when compared with the previous year. Profit before tax (EBITDA) was up more than 30% at SEK 907 million (around €180 million, £150 million, $200 million).
This tremendous rate of growth looks like being repeated or even bettered in 2021. Half year results for the year to June show further growth in excess of 40% on the corresponding period in 2020, with profits up by well over 30%. With the company’s services rapidly expanding, particularly in the United States, worldwide transaction volumes were up by more than half (50%) on the first six months of 2020.
Trustly CEO Oscar Berglund was certainly upbeat about the results, pointing to phenomenal growth in the United States as the main driver of future revenues for the company.
Early 2021 saw widespread reports that the company was intending to go public with a listing on the Stockholm NASDAQ stock exchange later in the year, but this was later postponed as the company awaited the verdict of a Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (SFSA) assessment.
How does Trustly work?
Trustly is a simple, safe and secure way to make online payments for goods and services. The company has signed agreements with thousands of different banks all across the globe, so the chances are your bank is compatible with the Trustly service.
